05 May Positive Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Membertou
May 5, 2021
Membertou has just confirmed through COVID-19 testing and Nova Scotia Public Health, that two Membertou community members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The individuals are isolating as required and have been very helpful in re-tracing their locations and contacts. Contact tracing is now taking place. If you are a close contact, you will be contacted by public health. If you know that you were in close contact with COVID-19, please go for a COVID-19 test in Membertou at the Membertou Entertainment Centre (open from 9am-5pm daily). Get tested, and please follow all public health guidelines.
As a community, we must rally around those who become positive with the COVID-19 virus. Kindness, checking in, and support go a long way in helping the mental health of those who are dealing with the virus.
Membertou is asking any family members or close friends who are in touch with someone who becomes positive with COVID-19 to get tested and isolate. Now, more than ever, we all need to stay at home. Membertou is working in accordance with Dr. Strang’s recommendation to not socialize or be in contact with anyone outside your household; please continue to follow this.
From all of us in Membertou, we send our deepest wishes for a healthy and speedy recovery to our community members. We are here for you every step of the way.
We are currently working with public health to confirm additional details and contacts. We will inform the community immediately as we know more. Thank you to the community for your patience, and your commitment to stay at home while we do everything we can to stop further spread of COVID-19 in Membertou.
Wela’lioq,
Chief Terry
